Snuggle Up With These Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Every week they post a new topic/top ten list and invite everyone to share their own answers. I'm so obsessed with lists - so it makes perfect sense that I'd love this feature!

I actually did pretty good on my fall TBR. I ended up swapping out one book my list after the fact because I realized the one I put on there was definitely not the book for me, so I ended up reading eight out of ten total. Not bad at all, I'd say! Hope I continue to knock books off my TBR and that I find new favorites along the way.

Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR

REVIEW THESE...

1. Belle Cora by Phillip Margulies - I'm a little nervous about this book, but also kind of intrigued by it. Read the summary, and you'll see what I mean!

2. The Wife, The Maid and the Mistress by Ariel Lawhon - Scandal and mystery? Count me in! I can't wait to read about "Justice Joseph Crater's infamous disappearance - as seen through the eyes of the three women who knew him best."

3. Under the Wide and Starry Sky by Nancy Horan - Oh man, I just love historical fiction based on real people! This book tells the story of Robert Louis Stevenson's love affair with an American divorcee. I hope the inside is a lovely as this cover!

4. My Life In Middlemarch by Rebecca Mead - I had big plans to read Middlemarch for the first time before diving into this book, but that clearly hasn't happened. I'm still dying to read the daunting classic, but I think I'll be reading this book without experiencing Middlemarch for myself first.

5. Wake by Anna Hope - I really love this cover and summary! I'm always interested in books set during WWI, and I like that this book ties together three women. Can't wait to discover their stories!

SAVOR THESE...

6. Longbourn by Jo Baker - I'm sure you're not surprised that this book about life below stairs in Pride and Prejudice made it on to my list. I cannot wait to see how Baker handles this concept, and I only hope I end up loving it!

7. The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson - I feel like I know so many people who have read and loved these books! After one of my real life friend's recommended it to me, I knew that I couldn't resist any longer. Time to fall into this fantasy world!

8. Something Strange and Deadly by Susan Dennard - I would usually steer clear of zombies (ick!), but I have to admit that I'm really interested in this book. If it's done well, mixing in zombies with historical fiction might be the perfect way to introduce my brain to these nefarious creatures.

9. Allegiant by Veronica Roth - It's already been spoiled for me, but I still need to read this conclusion. I think it sounds like a fitting end, but I guess I won't know until I read it for myself!

10. Take A Chance On Me by Susan May Warren - The second book in this series comes out in February, so I should probably get around to reading the first before it does.

  2. Great list! I added The Girl of Fire and Thorns to my wishlist last night! It looks so good and I absolutely love fantasy so these books really jump out at me as great looking fantasy books! I read Divergent earlier this year and really need to get round to finishing up that series asap as everyone loves it!

  4. I've heard such great things about The Girl of Fire and Thorns, too, but still haven't read it. I've even borrowed it from the library a few times. Total fail.

Something Strange and Deadly is super fun! I hear the sequel is even better - but I haven't gottehn there yet either.

I've been curious about Longbourn - P&P is my favorite book - but for some reason I'm not dying to read it.

    Happy Winter Reading :)

    1. I ended up binge reading that series and loved it! I thought the first book was the weakest of the three, so definitely give it a shot because it gets even better.

I just started Something Strange & Deadly last night. Different kind of read for me, but I'm enjoying it so far!

I've since read Longbourn and loved it! I wasn't dying to read it either, but it totally surprised me with how good it was!

  5. Hannah, I love your lists. I normally have never heard of 80% of them and I love that. Most TTT's are the same books (which is fine, and mine certainly falls into that category too) so it's so nice to have new titles to investigate! I've bookmarked this and tomorrow I'm going to goodreads them all and see what I can add :) I hate that Allegiant got spoiled for you. Bleh. I still can't wait to see what you think though!! Happy Winter Reading!!!

    1. Awww what a compliment, Lauren! I love that you find new and different books on my list/blog. I always hope I've got lots of variety and am introducing people to books that may not already be on their radar. Hope you enjoy if you end up reading some of these!
