Wednesday Wish: Puffin Classics

Source

Please tell me I'm not the only one who wants to bring every single one of these books home with me?! I love that some of my very favorite children's classics have been given some special, beautiful book attention. From the bright colors to the gorgeous prints, I'm loving everything about these Puffin Classics.

I don't own any of them, but I am dying to buy Anne of Green Gables and The Secret Garden. My only problem? I already own at least two pretty copies of both of those books. I think I'm addicted to buying gorgeous versions of my favorite classics. Still, let's face it, I'll probably add these to my collection one day.

Have you seen these before? And do you own any of them yourself? Better yet - are you addicted to buying gorgeous editions of classics?

  1. These are so pretty! I've decided I need to get some of these for my baby's room depending on what gender it turns out to be... I can justify buying books for someone else, right? :)

    1. I think you can totally justify book buying if they are for someone else! Even though you'll probably be enjoying them long before the baby would haha! Just imagine how cute they'd be in a little nursery... Sigh. I can see it now :)

    1. I own so many copies of "pretty" books that I really do plan on reading but are pretty much for shelf decoration at the moment. Oops! I'll get to them someday...

  5. Wow, loooove them! I'm like you though, I seem to collect beautiful versions of classics and have duplicates of some. I actually like to scour used book stores for old, loved copies of my favorite classics. But like Lorren mentioned above, they would be beautiful in a child's room!

    1. I love that you collect beautiful classics, too! I'm totally addicted to it. Even when I know already have a pretty version of a book, I can't resist another one if I happen to find it. And I LOVE the idea of scouring used bookstores. I love antique copies of classics, too. I like to imagine all the hands that the books have passed through and the lives that have been changed by reading its pages :)

  8. These books are JUST MY THING. I saw them forever ago in Anthropologie & barely stopped myself from spending my clothing money on copies of books I already own. I will definitely get them at some point though.

Do you have any of that line of Penguin Classics that are (similar and) really beautiful? I have EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. Oops?

    1. I saw them in Anthropologie, too, and made myself walk away. I was really tempted to buy Anne of Green Gables since it's my favorite of all of them. As I was writing this post, I was thinking about how I might need to finally break down and order a few of these.

I ADORE PENGUIN CLASSICS. They're gorgeous. And so beautiful displayed :) I can't believe you have every single one! I'm so jealous of you right now, Sarah. AHHH! I have maybe 10 or so. But I want all of them! I just restrict myself to buying one every now and then. But I get scared they'll sell out or discontinue some before I can them all!
