    1. Oh I loved Jellicoe Road so much! It's really confusing at first and then it just steals your heart completely. It's wonderful!

  2. I'm pretty sure Gilbert and Anne are my original OTP, possibly second only to Mary Poppins and Bert. (Because obviously those two love each other.) Oh, and I'm so glad to see Sean & Puck on this list. Three cheers for romance based on mutual respect and admiration!

    1. I have definitely loved Anne and Gilbert longer than any other literary couple. They are just the best! And I'm totally cracking up at Mary Poppins and Bert (but totally think you're on to something there). Aren't Sean and Puck just wonderful!?! Seriously, they are so amazing.

  3. I love that you added quotes for each of them! So beautiful.

Gilbert and Anne are on my list, as well. I love how perfect they are for each other both as impulsive children and as the wonderful adults they grow into.

    I also love L. M. Montgomery's Pat and Jingle.

And Anne and Gilbert are just THE BEST. I have SO much love for them. I need to reread the Pat books because I don't remember as much about those!

  9. First of all, can I say you win the award for making the PRETTIEST Top Ten Tuesday I've ever seen just now? Good gracious. Your skills amaze me.

Okay, we share a few! Sean and Puck, obviously, thanks to YOU. And my favorite was Anne and Gilbert OF COURSE.

But you do have a few here that are my list as super-important-hurry-and-read-these, and I think my next will be P&P, as you know. So I'm looking forward to meeting this couple!

Also, how on earth could I forget Redeeming Love? It's only one of my all-time favorite books ever in the history of all the land.

    LOVE this.

    1. Glad you think it's pretty! I definitely don't have many skills - just try and pull things together haha!

YAYYYYY Sean and Puck (still love that I got to help introduce you to them) and Anne & Gilbert. So excited for you to meet Darcy and Elizabeth! I obviously have so much love for them.

I can't believe you forgot Redeeming Love. Asheley, how could you?! Haha!

      Glad you loved the post!

    2. (whispers, also, would now be a good time to shock you with the info that I am the only Southern girl left in the history of ever that hasn't 1) read Gone With the Wind or 2) seen Gone With the Wind?)

*backs away very quietly on tip-toes, so as not to cause a large disturbance, SURE that this will*

    3. Hahaha! Oh Asheley! And I'm guessing you don't even know what happens? You are like a genius at keeping yourself away from spoilers - I am so impressed! You DEFINITELY need to read this book. It's a chunkster, but it goes so fast. Honestly, Scarlett's not really likeable but she is so readable! You just can't stop.

Make this a classic on your TBR! YOU MUST! Or else.

  15. THIS is a fantastic list. Wow I haven't read Redeeming Love in ages, but I was talking recently to Asheley about how I'd like to again. Such a beautiful but tough Biblical retelling. DEFINITELY the first five you picked. As well as Sean and Puck. I LOVE THOSE TWO SO MUCH. And that's totally the quote I'd pick for them too (in fact I'll probably use it tomorrow for my giveaway. <3

  26. Those quotes just make me want to cry for days because of all the BEAUTIFUL WORDS and the LOVE and the PASSION and I can't even. Though, if I'm being honest, I've only read P&P. The Scorpio Races and Jellicoe Road are now a bazillion places higher on my TBR. I need to get to them soooon.

“Her heart did whisper that he had done it for her.”

    Oh, my heart.

    1. I figured this week was PERFECT for quotes, since there are few things better than romantic quotes. I'm SO glad that I was able to help move The Scorpio Races and Jellicoe Road up on your list. Those were two of my very favorite reads last year.

Swooning right there with you, Judith!

  27. Honestly, the reason I smiled immediately after reading your list was just thinking of Gilbert & Anne - love those two! I always aspired to find a relationship just like that, rich with history and just lovely indeed.

Sean and Puck are definitely favorites too! The Scorpio Races has got to be my favorite Maggie book EVER, and I love how subtly this romance is woven into it.

    1. Oh, I love that you described Gilbert + Anne as "rich with history." That's so perfect! And that really is something that makes their relationship so special :)

Yay for The Scorpio Races love! I'd say it's my favorite Maggie too (which is true) but it probably doesn't mean as much since I've only read The Raven Boys out of her other books haha!
