Twenty Books in Twenty Fourteen

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. Every week they post a new topic/top ten list and invite everyone to share their own answers. I'm so obsessed with lists - so it makes perfect sense that I'd love this feature!

I've missed out the last few topics because I've been in a bit of a reading and blogging funk, but I'm back with a vengeance this week. You didn't think I was going to sit out one of my favorite topics, did you? My last Top Ten Tuesday post was sequels/series I was dying to get my hands on. Since most of those were being published in 2014, this week could have been a very repetitive list. As such, I decided not to include any young adult series books in this post (with one exception - because it wasn't on my previous list) since you likely already know I'm dying for those 2014 releases.

Since my reading taste is all over the place, I didn't limit myself to ten books. Sorry not sorry. So, here are ten 2014 young adult releases and ten 2014 adult releases that I'm dying to read!

Top Ten 2014 Releases I'm Dying to Read

YOUNG ADULT

1. Since You've Been Gone by Morgan Matson - This one should be a given. I've loved both of Matson's books, and I am dying to get my hands on this one. From the amazing cover to the awesome description, this one can't get here fast enough.

2. What I Thought Was True by Huntley Fitzpatrick - I really enjoyed My Life Next Door, so I was already anticipating this 2014 release. Add in great ratings from Cassie and Betty and you know I'm sold!

3. To All the Boys I've Loved Before by Jenny Han - I actually haven't read anything by Jenny Han before (I know, I know), but I want to make this my first. And yes, the cover is a huge reason for that.

4. The Museum of Intangible Things by Wendy Wunder - I haven't read anything by Wendy Wunder yet either, but I put this on my wishlist the minute I spotted this cover on Goodreads. The title is a mouthful, but I'm kind of obsessed with it + the cover. Hope it lives up to my expectations!

5. The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith - I really love how Smith's three recent books all have similar-looking covers. I feel like I know what to expect with Smith, so I'm excited for this sweet-sounding contemporary read.

6. Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman - This is the only YA historical fiction book on my list, but it sounds like a good one. I'm really intrigued by the fact that the heroine is related to Hitler and that she develops feelings for a Jewish reporter. This is definitely a book I want to read!

7. The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton - This one wasn't really on my radar until I started looking at Goodreads lists to see if I had forgotten any 2014 releases. The lyrical title had me intrigued, and now the summary has me even more curious. I have really enjoyed the few magical realism books I've read, so I hope I feel the same about this one!

8. The Here and Now by Ann Brashares - I have only ever read the first Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book, and I never really cared for it. However, I loved Brashares' two adult titles. This one made it on my wishlist the minute I saw the news about it on Twitter. And the cover is gorgeous too!

9. Rebel Belle by Rachel Hawkins - It has belle in the title and y'all in the summary, so I don't really think I need to say more. However, I will add that this one sounds a little different from my typical read but has me really curious. It seems like it will be really funny, too, so I hope that's the case!

10. Silver Shadows by Richelle Mead - I haven't read The Fiery Heart yet, but I already know I'll be anxiously awaiting this book's release once I do. I'm scared of what Mead is going to do to Sydrian!

Adult Fiction

11. Landline by Rainbow Rowell - The summary doesn't appeal to me that much, but I will basically read anything Rowell writes. I love her writing style that much.

12. The Secret of Raven Point by Jennifer Vanderbes - I discovered this book while I was making my list, but I knew it had to get a spot on here once I did. I just love everything about this one - the cover, the summary, the setting, etc. I can't wait to see if it's as good as I think it will be!

13. I Always Loved You by Robin Oliveira - I really enjoyed Oliveira's first book book, My Name is Mary Sutter, so I'm excited to read more from her. I'm also a huge fan of historical fiction based on real people, so this one is right up my alley.

14. The Crimson Ribbon by Katherine Clements - I added this one to my wishlist after spotting it on NetGalley last week (the cover!), but I get more excited for it the more I think about it. I know very little about the English Civil War, so maybe this book will give me a new time period to obsess over.

15. The Daring Ladies of Lowell by Kate Alcott - Ever since I read Katherine Paterson's Lyddie when I was young, I have been fascinated by the Lowell mill girls. Needless to say, I am dying to get my hands on this book!

Christian Fiction

16. Undetected by Dee Henderson - I hate this cover, but I'm a huge fan of Dee Henderson. There has been a noticeable difference in her writing in the last two books, so I'm curious to see if this one follows suit. I'm hoping that it will smooth out some of the issues I've disliked in her more recent books and feel a little more like some of my favorite books by her.

17. Captured by Love by Jody Hedlund - I'm so glad that Hedlund keeps churning out books because I will definitely keep on reading them. She was one of my favorite author discoveries last year, and I think her books just keep getting better and better.

18. Full Steam Ahead by Karen Witemeyer - I have really enjoyed Witemeyer's historical fiction, so I know I'll be diving into her new one next year. They are sometimes a little hit-or-miss, but I'm hoping this one will work for me!

19. Bridge to Haven by Francine Rivers - I really love Francine Rivers, author of some of what I'd consider the very best Christian fiction. I'm so excited that she'll have a new one out next year, and I love the cover and summary! Can't lie - this one will likely be a pre-order for me.

20. It Had to Be You by Susan May Warren - I bought the first book in this series, and I still haven't read it. Oops! But that doesn't mean I can't get excited about book two, right? I don't know what it is, but I just love this cover.

  10. I absolutely LOVE that you broke up this list into two parts! While we share a lot of the same books on the young adult part, I was definitely happy to discover some new ones I hadn't heard of on the adult part. I think the one that most intrigues me is The Crimson Ribbon! That cover is fantastic, and the story sounds GOOD.
