Consider {Gifting} This Classic

With the holidays approaching, I thought it might be fun to share a little special edition of Consider This Classic. As you may know, I love reading classics. While I don't make as much time for them anymore, this is what I grew up reading. Some of my earliest reading memories are tied to the books I'm highlighting below. In many cases, I discovered the book because someone in my life gifted me a copy!

Personally, I think classics can make great gifts. Why? Because there are so many gorgeous editions of them available! Even if the recipient doesn't read the book, they're perfect for decorating. You'll find special editions of classics scattered all throughout my house... So, I've picked 10 classics that I think would make great gifts. For eight of them, I've picked three different editions that I think stand out. And for the two books that are my absolute favorites, I've got six editions just waiting to be wrapped and placed under the tree!

  4. Love love love this! You are so right, classics have tons of amazing covers to choose from! I love the first Little Women cover and the Jane Eyre cover directly beneath it. And I'm in love with the Vintage Classics Edition of I Capture The Castle! Wow! I have the Puffin Chalk Edition of Peter Pan, which I gave to my wedding party as part of their gift- it's my husband's favorite story and I love books so it was perfect! I also love Wuthering Heights, so collecting different editions is fun for me :)

  5. Oh, my. SO MANY pretty editions! I LOVE the Penguin Threads edition of The Wizard of Oz. I sorted through my bookshelves on Friday and set aside some books to get rid of, and it's made me want to restock my shelves with some pretty new editions. Eep!

  6. I've never seen those Puffin Chalk editions before but now I need them. The Puffin in Bloom covers are my favourite. I need to own all the pretty versions of Little Women.

  7. If I were capable of buying myself all the pretty editions of classic novels, I would probably do it. Seriously, there are some great designs for them out there! What I love about this post is that you chose some of your own favorites, and found these fantastic editions for the rest of us to admire/drool over/desire/add to a wishlist. It's seriously such a great idea, and I'm glad you did it!
